Today’s Grace
Thomas Newman – Dead already

Today I would like to thank Lars, for introducing me to the world of reality. For introducing me to real, good movies, to good music, and good books. To things that one can enjoy for life, and learn great things from.

If it hadn’t been for Lars, I would’ve still been reading 100 page-books with font size 20, and no author name on them. And I would’ve still been into teen movies, and probably a dedicated fan of Scary Movie.

But I learned that there was a lot more than that, and that’s what I would like to thank him for. For introducing me to the world of enjoyment, everlasting inspiration and mind-troubling puzzles.

Yes, that’s all for today folks. Stick around and maybe one day YOU will be the lucky person in my Grace du Jour.

Answering machines and Flat Stanleys
Requiem for a dream – Summer Overture

I called the American Embassy a few days ago, and was totally freaked when an answering machine started talking in English. So, I guess I have to start getting used to that. Anyway, there was some kind of American holiday at the time, so I sent them an e-mail instead. And, this afternoon, I’ve been officially booked for an interview at the American Embassy in Oslo, Norway. Wow.

Lazy staying home day is quite cool. We didn’t get any written exams this year, so I’m off from school till June 10th (the day before my birthday). So that’s pretty cool. And in the mean time, I think I’m going to join the Flat Stanley Project , go to the gym, shop, prepare my party, do some nerding, watch movies, eat, listen to music, watch TV, hang with Kaja, do some barbequing, etc. Feels good (yes, I am rubbing it in).

And oh, don’t forget the double Lost episode tonight! Episode 19 AND episode 20 coming up right after. Yes, to all you Americans: Feeling sorry for us dweebs being way behind you? Well, thanks, I do too. But still, can’t wait to watch ‘em tonight!

And by the way I love you.
Radiohead – How to dissapear completely

What is it with music that makes it take over my entire life, my body, mind and soul? Wherefore does these sounds capture me completely, take me over, invade my space? It feels so great to just surrender, let it take you away, and wish that it never ends. But it always does. So how can I make it perpetual, everlasting?

I want it so bad.

People are so oblivious sometimes. But I’ve also discovered that when I think that they don’t know, sometimes they do. And if they knew this, I’m not sure what would happen. Will everything go the way I was hoping for, or will things go back to status quo? Beats me…

The Man of many Talents
Morten Harket – Spanish Steps

I went to an amazing concert tonight. Ole Edvard Antonsen had come to Bryne, and I of course had to hear him perform. For those of you who are totally lost, or foreign: Ole Edvard Antonsen is one of Norway’s (the world’s) greatest classical musicians. He plays the trumpet (and various other brass instruments), and has performed with most of the big orchestras and conductors in the world. He has been on more than 60 CD’s, and he’s been known as a professional musician since the late 80’s.

So I went to the concert, and it was great. He enthralled us with the beautiful sounds of his instruments. He played the C-trumpet, the B-trumpet, the flugelhorn, the cornet and two piccolo trumpets. And also, a garden hose with a mouthpiece on it. My favourite song was “5000 miles”, which Morten Harket has made a cover version of (Spanish Steps), and also Vitae Lux.

He also played several of his own songs, plus Badinerie, Adagio and Flight of the bumblebee

We also got one extra number, after several minutes of standing applause. If he ever comes back, I’m definitely going to see him perform! He’s a great musician, and a great source of inspiration and motivation!

Cast a light
Jose González - Crosses

I’ve been thinking. You know, it might just be the movie i watched tonight that’s been another one of those influence waves on me, but I don’t think so. Even though I’m very easily inspired by things like that. Anyway, I want to start writing again. Serious things, like I’ve always wanted. I mean, sure, I’ve got this little thingie (“How fragile we are”) going on, but no one seems to be reading it. By the way, that is not a plea for you to go read it, because it has to be voluntarily. I can’t force my stuff upon people, they have to want it. That’s why I’m gonna try to write something that people’s gonna want to read. It has to be intriguing, and interesting, and people have to be able to find a place for themselves in it. Yeah, but I need to do some more thinking first.

And by the way, sorry about the lack of posts lately… I’ve been seriously busy with school; finals are coming up now, you know.

So, I’ll try to post more frequently from now on.

And also, you might not have noticed, but I've got two new sections for you here @ Two Shoes, so feel free to check them out here:

Nowhere'll just fade away
Nikki Hassman – Any lucky penny

It’s time for that day again: Our national day, May 17th. I get up at 6am tomorrow, march around till 5pm, eat, sleep, and then go to school on Wednesday morning. Why, how, HOW can they expect me to do this? God… What a dreadful way of life these people in the government must have…

I finished watching the French Lieutenant’s Woman today. I must say that I liked it pretty much, actually. I mean, give me a movie with Jeremy Irons in it, and I’ll tell you I love it even before watching it. He’s great no matter what he plays in.

I also watched Zelig (by Woody Allen) with Lars today. I was laughed at when I asked whether the movie was real or not. But I learned my lesson later on. Watch it, it’ll make you wonder. And even laugh a little, if you’re in the right mood.

Have fun tomorrow everyone! And remember when you come to school on Wednesday, and spot that poor band musician in your class, NOT to yell at him/her for waking you up early on the 17th: It’s NOT by choice!

Falling even more
Lifehouse – Hanging by a moment

The party at Annika’s place was great! I ended up talking to her host sister for about three hours, because she went to the US last year, with EF. So we had a lot to talk about, and I really enjoyed the conversation. She drove me down to the train station afterwards, and I made it onto the platform just as the train arrived.

Yesterday I went to my 2nd cousin Ole Jørgen’s Sweet Sixteen party. I had a pretty decent time there as well, but I managed to embarrass myself by breaking a glass from his parent’s kitchen, only two minutes after I’d arrived. But, Rolfie, the vacuum cleaner, helped me out with that!

Today, I went for a walk with my neighbour’s dog, Balder. We’re watching him for her, because she’s getting confirmed today. So I took Balder (he’s a cocker spaniel) out for about an hour. I stopped by Lars’ place to get my Star Wars DVD back, which I forgot there the last time I went over there. On my way home, some people pulled up their car next to me, came over and asked if they could take a picture of my dog. So I was like “Uhm… yeah, sure…”, and then they shot two frames or so. Afterwards, they asked for his name, thanked me, and then drove off. Weird stuff…

Searching places
All Saints – Pure shores

So, have I got no boundaries? I keep asking myself that question. Yeah, sure, I’ve got my limits, but sometimes, there’s no telling where they go… I mean, sometimes there are thoughts in my head that just shouldn’t be there. Not impure, directly, just wrong. Sort of. Ever felt that way?

Today’s my mom’s 40th birthday, and Annika is turning 17. Yay for both of them. My mom’s not really as freaked out as I expected. I guess I expected her to be a bit weird about it. I mean, she’s always been the youngest parent in the class, and so on, and now she’s finally hit the big four zero.
Feels sorta weird. But, I’m guessing she’ll just go on like normal.

I’m going over to Annika’s tonight, to attend her birthday party. I’m a bit nervous, because there’ll be lots of people that I don’t know there. I’m not sure if there’ll be ANYONE I know, actually. Except for Annika, of course. But, it’ll probably be loads of fun.

Poor Lars, he’s still sick. He might stay sick for weeks. Bah. I miss having him around on MSN, and being able to go over there. But, he’s too sick to have company at the moment, so I guess I’ll have to wait. But that’s okay. I can understand that he doesn’t feel like having anyone over when he can barely talk…

I spy…
Lonely Planet theme

So, again, a new layout. I didn’t like the OC layout that much after all, so I decided to change it. This one features the lovely Jennifer Garner, who plays Sydney Bristow in one of my favorite TV-shows, “Alias”. Hope you all like it! Thanks for all the comments so far! I really appreciate them!

So what’s been going on with me lately? Well, not much, really, just the usual boring school stuff.

I did a concert yesterday. My first concert at school, actually (well, I’ve done concerts there before, but never while playing my horn, with only my teacher to accompany me).

At first, I was all calm and ready, but when I got on stage, I started shaking. Let’s cut to the chase: My dad said he loved it, but my teacher didn’t say a word. I stopped playing a couple of times, but I got back in. I hope to do better next time. But as long as my dad’s happy, I’m happy. Family is the most important. And by the way, my teacher called me today, and he was quite pleased, which was great to hear from someone like him. He’s the best music teacher I’ve ever had, I think.

I got my Visa Application Form today, from EF. It’s a LOT of work to fill it out, and there’s also several other forms that I have to fill out. Bah. I guess I’ll be spending my weekend off filling out forms… But, I have to do it, or else I won’t get to stay in the US.

A world of fine
Love spit love – How soon is now?

So basically, I’ve spent the last two days trying to put this site together, and practicing for the big concert on Tuesday.

As you can see, I’ve changed the layout, and for once, I think I’m happy with it. I really like the OC, and I thought it was about time that I featured my favourite OC Couple on the layout. So here you go, Ryan and Marissa!

I hope to get some comments on the new layout, on the new URL, etc. Feel free to leave one!

I got hosted!

So, I finally got hosted! But, I’ve still got a whole bunch of things left to do here, so please, be patient! Hope to see you around!
In the mean time, enjoy the new downloads, the links and the site!
